Buddhist Meditation

Buddhist Thought and Meditation for Inner Peace with Buddhist nun Kelsang Chonyi

In our pursuit of happiness, we can spend our whole life trying to change everyone and everything to suit us and never find contentment; or we can simply change our mind and find contentment in each moment. Meditation is a method for transforming our mind so that we gradually gain the ability to remain at peace and respond positively in all situations.

Classes include a talk, guided meditations and discussion and will be based on the book ‘Universal Compassion' by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This profoundly beautiful text reveals methods for us to develop unconditional love and compassion and transform our day to day living, including even the most demanding and difficult conditions, into opportunities for personal and spiritual development.

Classes last 1½ hours and are £5.50 per class or £18 for any four classes. The classes begin at 7 pm and are held on Thursdays.

Autumn term dates:

  • 16th September - 14th October (5 weeks)
  • 4th November - 9th December (6 weeks)

Kelsang Chonyi has a deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings which she presents in a way that is easily applicable to daily life.
