![]() YogaHatha Yoga with Claire Parker (BWY)Yoga could not be more relevant to our times. Many people are becoming increasingly aware of their need to relax, de-stress, exercise, breathe more effectively, improve and maintain their general health, and assess their life style. Yoga can help to do this, not just for five minutes but for the rest of our lives. Regular practice can help to strengthen the body, increase bone density, stretch muscles and cleanse tissues, massage internal organs, reduce toxins, reduce stress, enable more harmonious relationships, improve concentration and confidence and raise energy levels to help cope with life and life changing events. You can use yoga postures, breathing exercises, relaxation and meditation to increase your understanding of the relationship between body, breath and mind - developing a state of attention that allows space for reflection and self-enquiry. Two daytime classes are available on Mondays - the first at 9.15 am – 10.45 am, and the second at 11 am – 12.30 pm. Classes cost £36 per for six sessions and booking beforehand is essential. Please contact Claire directly to book your place. Autumn term begins on Monday, 13th September 2010. About Claire : I have been living and teaching yoga in Devon since qualifying with The British Wheel of Yoga (the governing body for yoga in the UK) and moved here in 2004. Every individual is unique, and this is the basis from which I create the content of my classes. Groups are kept small (max 7 students) which ensures individual attention. Postures are modified to cater for individual needs. Claire can be contacted on: LifeStyle Yoga with Paritosh (Yoga Alliance)Includes breath centered asana movements and postures, pranayama yoga breathing, relaxation and Yoga Nidra guided self-reflection. I teach a variety of different styles of yoga, including Hatha, Structural and Restorative Yoga with a holistic and eclectic approach. Specific themes of yoga and mindfulness are explored, with an emphasis on supporting strength and flexibility, integrating body awareness, confidence and expansion, while restoring energy and reducing stress. The classes have an intimate and non-competitive environment, with individual attention to posture and alignment. This is open to students of all levels and experience, providing a well-rounded class; whether you are in search of an integrated yoga workout, are new to yoga, or returning to yoga after a break. The LifeStyle Yoga class runs on Fridays evenings at 6.45 pm until 8.15 pm. The Autumn term begins on Friday 10th September. Classes cost £36 per for six sessions.
